Pickles & Honey Counselling offers child, youth, and family counselling services in Fort St. John and surrounding areas. Laura Honey is a Clinician who is skilled at adapting interventions and treatments to meet all child and adolescent developmental stages.


Pickles in life can lead to needing some support, direction and problem solving. Counsellors can assist people of all ages to identify issues, clarify preferred ways of being, and support people to reach their fullest potential. Through the use of an eclectic framework that incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, developmental psychology, expressive therapies and neurobiology, unique situations are met with unique solutions.  


What is pickles & honey



Pickles & Honey offers a variety of counselling services designed to meet the needs of children, youth and their families. Some clients prefer the traditional use of the counselling office where others require in home or outreach supports in order to meet their needs. Along with the ability to offer a flexible forum for counselling locations a variety of support and counselling services are also available. Child and youth individual counselling, child and youth outreach support, family counselling, support groups, and clinical consultations are provided. Dedicated professional service that is aimed at 'filling the mental health gap' for children and youth.


Laura Honey currently works as a Clinical Counsellor with children, youth and families who are experiencing a variety of mental, emotional, social and behavioural issues. Laura has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has completed specialized training in PTSD and Complex/Developmental Trauma through the Justice Institute of B.C. Over the past few years Laura has worked within the child and youth mental health field; forensic and youth support services programs; and has provided front line interventions to high risk youth.  In 2010 Laura completed a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of British Columbia and has been a Registered Social Worker with the B.C. College of Social Workers for the past six years. Laura has had experience with a variety of public and private systems and can assist in collaborating with care teams and community supports. Working with children, youth and their families is Laura's passion and it is with great enthusiasm that she brings behavioral, mental health and support services to children and youth in the Northern community of Fort St. John.

A Happier, Healthier You

Either in an office or in a home environment, individual and family counselling is available to meet the needs of children, youth and their families. Counselling includes assessments, interventions and treatment goals to increase functioning in a specific area.

Individual Rate:

$110 (per 60 minute, gst included)

Here For You

In a home environment or out in the community, offering child and youth one on one support to meet a range of mental, emotional and social needs. Support services are designed for those needing basic support and guidance in negotiating and effectively dealing with life challenges. Child and Youth Mental Health Support can be a great option for those on wait lists for other programs or those who require longer term support. 

Individual Rates:

$100 Support Services (per 60 minute, gst included)- Please inquire about this program during referral.

Groups, Workshops & Consultation Services

Quality Care

Many individuals access psychoeducational groups, skills groups and counselling groups for benefits in individual and social growth.  Check back regularly for groups been offered!

Group Rates (2 hours) $50.00 per person

Consultation Services are available for groups or organizations who require information and direction in regards to psychological, social, emotional and/or behavioural areas.
