Pickles & Honey Counselling offers child and youth counselling services in B.C's northern community of Fort St. John.

 

Laura Honey is the primary Counsellor and owner of Pickles & Honey. She is a diverse Clinician who can adapt a variety of therapy's and interventions to meet child and youth's mental health and wellness needs. 

Lets face it, kids and teens get into pickles that sometimes require parents, caregivers, and kids themselves to need a little extra support, direction, and problem solving. Pickles and Honey offers assessment, stabilization and psychotherapeutic services so that all kids can can thrive towards meeting their full potential.

 

Through the use of an attachment (relationship) based philosophy with a trauma informed approach Pickles & Honey Counselling strives to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Through the use of   Positive Discipline techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Developmental Psychology, Expressive Therapies, Mindfulness, and Neurobiology unique situations are met with unique solutions.

What is pickles & honey

 

 

Pickles & Honey offers a variety of counselling services designed to meet the needs of children and youth. With a downtown Fort St. John office and a Child Therapy Office, Pickles & Honey can meet your needs through outreach, in home or in office meetings. Child and youth individual counselling, child and youth outreach support, family counselling, support groups, and clinical consultations are available. Dedicated professional service that is aimed at 'filling the gap in mental health services ' for children and youth.

 

 

 

 

 

Laura Honey currently works as a Clinical Counsellor with children, youth, their families, and their related support teams so that mental, emotional, social and behavioural issues are addressed. At times, practicum students and colleagues work together to deliver services through Pickles and Honey Counselling. 

 

Laura has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has completed specialized training in PTSD and Complex/Developmental Trauma through the Justice Institute of B.C.  Over the years, Laura has worked in child and youth mental health programs, forensics services, special needs, social work, and frontline services.  In 2010, Laura completed a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of British Columbia and has been a Registered Social Worker with the B.C. College of Social Workers since 2012. Laura has had experience with a variety of public and private systems and can assist in collaborating with care teams and community supports along with offering assessment and treatment planning.

Laura Honey offers clinical counselling services focused on providing assessment and treatment planning for mental, emotional and behavioural functioning. Specific interventions are designed and implemented to meet individual needs. 

Screening and referral services available if required.

Please be advised that due to wait times we are not currently able to accept new clients. 

Individual Rate:

$130 (per 60 minute, gst included)

 

 

Family Rate:

$150 (per 60 minute session, gst included)

Many individuals access psychoeducational groups, skills groups, and counselling groups for benefits in individual and social growth.

Group Rates (2 hours) $55.00 per person

Consultation Services are available for groups or organizations that require information and direction in regards to psychological, social, emotional and/or behavioural areas.
